Adam Corolla on the OWS Generation NSFW-Language

Adam Corolla, Car Guy, talk show host, puts the OWS Generation in perspective and it all goes back to "Participation Awards" and not offending anyone....

Despite the language, Corolla makes a point...pigeons coming home to roost!

I hate HR.

Human Resources to the uninitiated.  They create stumbling blocks to hiring in order to "thin the heard" so to speak.  By creating a list of "minimum requirements" they limit the pool in which they get to choose from.  (They may also be doing it so that it applies to only one particular candidate...after all...not everyone has 10 Space Shuttle landings in the last 12 calendar months...)

So the applicant meets and in many cases exceeds all requirements but is short on one, easily remedied item.  What do you do?  "Thanks for playing...we chose someone else."  Or is that just the cut-and-paste standard rejection email?

Let me talk to a living, breathing, UNDERSTANDING human being who has the authority and the ability to make something happen.  Not some HR flunky who only knows "Plug slot B into Flap A, rotate 90 degrees and Press 1 for English".

Dumbasses...no wonder our country's unemployed are so stymied.  (Congress, The White House, President Obama and the Liberal idiots notwithstanding...)

What you don't see is the previous minutes, hours and days the cops had to deal with these punks.

YouTube Video

UC Davis Police, IMO, were in a lose-lose situation.  BUT...If a cop tells you it's time to disperse, that you've violated the law, and that you will be removed, physically and possibly with pepper spray at a certain time and you continue to sit there, hoping, wishing, praying to whatever deity you believe/don't believe in that he will...

Then you have it coming...don't bitch.

And stop calling them "peaceful protestors".  Peaceful protestors don't say, "We'll let the cops go unharmed."  Peaceful protestors don't inhibit others from going about their day-to-day life.  Peaceful protestors don't shout down their Chancellors.

As for the Photoshop pics.  Some of them made me chuckle.  Creative, wrong but creative.  Unfortunately the MSM and Occupado folks will use this to rally more support while the whole video, the whole truth will go by the wayside.

I'll bet Mommy and Daddy are very proud of how their money is being spent at UC Davis.  Oh wait a minute...I'll bet most of those kids have some kind of financial aid, probably tax-payer money too.

Quit sitting on your ass and get back to class.

Honest Graft? Honestly?

Honest Graft?  Really?  Talk about your oxymorons.  With more on the details I give you the Three Amigos of Satire, The Triple-Headed Right-Wing Monster, the Triple Lutz of Conservatism:  Trifecta...
Trifecta via PJTV.Com

If you're not a member, first of all, Shame.   On.  You.  Secondly, you can find it here on YouTube.com:

Just look at the names being bandied about.  The biggest one is, of course California's very own Crazed Moonbat, Nancy Pelosi.  Does this woman not know Halloween is only once a year?  Can she speak without lying?  Does she really believe what comes out of her mouth?  CBS, 60 Minutes right wing?

Moron...

Their Park?

Bloomberg Cleans The Park...two months too late.  Sorry Mayor Bloomberg, your "two months" statement is two months too late.  Epic Fail.  No Spine.  You are the weakest link, goodbye.

It's not their park.  It's everyone's park hence the name "public park".  And public parks have rules and one of those rules is "no camping"...meaning...no tents, no sleeping bags, etc.  It also means, no drugs, no rape, no public defecation, no public urination, etc.

Where are the parents?  Oh yeah, rueing their vote for Obama...

I, personally, would have gotten a bull horn and a water truck with hoses and said, "We're cleaning the park in 5, 4, 3, 2...."

Occupier Gets His Comuppance

The http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/queens/take_out_the_trasher_TuMpvuv7PYzeL0vKMOjS4H#ixzz1dj6oJQ5l NY Post has a nice, little article complete with these pictures:

which warms the cockles of my soul.

Dumbass.

I love the look on this protestor's face.  "What?  Who me?  Where's my sign?"

Here's your sign...Learn to read dumbass.

Okay...I feel better.  Like the nice gentleman in the blue suit, Former NYPD cop Kevin Hiltunen said, "There is a time and place to exercise your First Amendment rights...This was not the time or the venue.”

I weep for the future of our country if this is what some people truly believe.  Don't get me wrong, I think he has every right to protest.  Just pick the proper place, have your facts straight, don't repeat tired cliche's and worn out dogma, do your homework, and above all, respect your fellow man.

I'm sure in his dreams it didn't end like this.  He probably saw himself as a righteous version of what it means to Occupy.  Welcome to the new world hippie doofus.

That has been the rant for the day.

Free Stuff

The folks who are getting the free stuff don't like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff  can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.

And, the folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop.
And the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now....  The people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff have told the people who are RECEIVING the free stuff that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.

So.... The people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this. All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded.  The reason?

The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 231 years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff. Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

Just Living w/Speed Tape

So my first rant will be against my current employer and their maintenance practices.

The air vent on the Caravan is actuated with a push/pull button that's attached to a push rod that opens and closes a vent on the side of the aircraft.  Back in Mar/Apr of 2011, this push rod bent (it's old like the rest of the plane.)  The pilot, in response to maintenance doing nothing about it, removed the interior vent face and stuffed a bunch of old manifests into the opening to reduce the noise and cold air.  Maintenance was notified several times over the intervening months and nothing was done to fix the problem.

Flash forward to November of 2012.  It's significantly colder.  In the Summer, the extra breeze was nice but the underlying problem was still there.  Now we have cold air blowing into the cockpit that cannot be stopped even when you've stuffed a couple of shop rags into the hole.

So the plane goes in for maintenance (taking over 2 weeks to do Phase Inspection) and the solution is to put some silver speed tape over the opening in the cockpit.  Okay.  Unfortunately they had to leave a tiny gap on each side of the vent so as to have the tape not blow off due to ram air coming in from the partially open vent on outside of the plane.

New solution:  Remove the outside vent flap and apply several layers of speed tape over the now 3"X4" opening.  Problem solved.

But was it?

No.  It's a temporary solution to carry the plane through the winter.  Next summer we'll be told to "live with it".

Like the intermittent, inaccurate fuel gauge in the other Caravan.  Our Caravan's are notorious for not using fuel equally between wing tanks.  So during flight we are constantly having to shut off one or the other fuel selector to maintain the required minimum fuel imbalance of 200 pounds of fuel.  But now, one cannot tell because the gauge drops 200 pounds then fluctuates between 100 pounds low and 500 pounds low.

Maintenance response to the complaint?

"You'll have to live with it."

*facepalm*
*headdesk*

Now I have a small laundry list of intermittent and annoying little squawks that will turn into airplane grounding issues should they not be taken care of.  Certainly the VP of the company and the CP would have some pull to get the plane back to home base for some overdue TLC?

Nope.

Not even with the plane being "in the window" for a Phase and being due for an Annual in this month.  This will, historically, be attended to with 2 to 3 days left in the month and us being notified that "on paper, it's done but we'll be working on it for a few more days" (read: weeks).

I will ground this plane in the most inopportune place should the need arise to get attention to maintenance issues.  Or, most likely, the plane will, itself, decide that somewhere between Mather and Modesto it's going to give up the ghost.

That's been the rant for today.
